The house is set in the lovely village of Paraza, on the banks of the Canal du Midi. The terrace on the second floor overlooks the Corbiere Hills to the south east. There is also a double bedroom on this floor. On the first floor is the bathroom and another double bedroom. The ground floor has a living room and kitchen in one. Bed linen, towels etc are included and the house is equipped with most things you should need. The stairs are winding so not for anyone with a disability, We bought the house when Jack was 4 and he managed the stairs ok. The TV gets all freesat uk channels and has a built in video player. There is also a player for Ipods etc. WiFi is via the village network and is fast, it is limited to 20 GB per month so please do not over use. There are boules available, not suitable for small children, cooking is via an oven and hob. there is also a microwave and toaster. There is a small washing machine in the bathroom, a drying rail. There is an iron and hair dryer in the bureau in the top floor bedroom.
I am a retired headteacher married to Suzanne. We have 2 children and use the house every holiday except Spring Bank and summer when we use our caravan srored in Spain. We have holidayed in the area for the past 15 years, We live in North Yorkshire.
The village has a Chateau for wine, a shop and a restaurant on the banks of the Canal Du Midi. There is a playground, a tennis court and Boules pitch. There are restaurants in the nearby towns and villages. Narbonne and Carcassonne are close by, 35 minutes and the beautiful resort of Gruissan on the coast. There are lakes and rivers safe for swimming near. The village is in the Minervois wine area and also in the heart of Cathar Country, Melo velo rent out bikes they are in the village.There are supermarkets in the surrounding towns of Lezignan, St. Marcel and Narbonne. Narbonne has a Leisure Centre for swimming, 10 pin bowling and ice skating.
