The house is situated in a quiet area on the outskirts of the town and only a 10 minute walk from the Place de la Republic at the centre of Limoux and the River Aude that flows through the area. The town of Limoux is a cultural delight as well as being very picturesque, with something going on almost every week throughout the year, from it's world famous Carnaval de Limoux held from December to late March to the many musical and staged events in the Place de la Republic. Whether you are interested in history, nature, a large variety of sports, walking, cycling or just good old watching the world go by. Limoux and the surrounding areas have something that will make you come back for more, time after time.
We feel very privileged to live in Limoux. Arriving for the first time in 2004 we have been made welcome every where we go and are now part of the local community. (Distributing the beautiful black cherries off our tree in May to all our friends & contacts helps!) After almost 20 years of visiting and living in the area each new day brings a new discovery. In a word Limoux and this part of France is Vibrant. This is now the 15th year that we have been opening our house up for rental and are very fortunate to have guests who return year after year. In that time we have transformed the house to give the holiday home a more polished edge and that process is on-going as our guests comments are taken on-board and acted on. We are very proud of our home and the area we live in and want more people to visit. Over the years we have had guests from all over the world and in many cases we still exchange emails as friends. Where do I start! The house is situated on the outskirts of town and within walking distance of the centre of Limoux, where you will find numerous shops, cafe's and restaurants. Limoux has a variety of museums and I cannot even begin to explain how many fetes and festivals take place within a calendar year. Many of our repeat guests have become firm friends with our neighbours and value the fact that there is someone they can talk to about places to go or simply share a glass of wine with. Further afield we are 20km from the walled city of Carcassonne Cite and the Canal du Midi. For those who like to drive Barcelona is only 3 hrs. away and the Pont du Gard is a similar distance.
