Welcome to Uzès and Apartment Laurier! Situated in the historic centre of Uzès, on a pretty pedestrian street, Apartment Laurier is a lovely, characterful apartment with its exposed stone walls and beamed ceilings and is ideal as an alternative to a hotel for a couple looking for the flexibility of self-catering in a perfect, town centre location. The apartment is on two floors and has a total living area of 40m². The open plan kitchen/living room on the first floor is fully equipped. There is a small balcony at the top of the entrance steps with a table and two chairs, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee. The bedroom on the second floor has a kingsize double bed (160x200cm) and a large en suite bathroom with an Italian style walk-in shower.
Uzès is a beautifully preserved medieval market town on the edge of Provence. Visit the famous Roman aqueduct, the Pont du Gard, go wine-tasting in the Rhone & Chateauneuf-du-Pape or kayaking on the local river Gardon. In summer enjoy the dance & classical music programs as well as the traditional festivals with bull-running through the streets. Local facilities are excellent, with an open air public swimming pool in the town & tennis courts, bike hire & great walks/hikes/runs. The local produce is spectacular and there is a wide range of restaurants and bars catering to every taste & budget. There are many interesting shops and boutiques in Uzès...with clothes, home decoration & jewellery well represented. Many of the surrounding villages are very beautiful and only 1 hour away are Mediterranean beaches, the Camargue area and the spectacular gorges and plateaux of the Cevennes & Gorges du Tarn. The famous towns of Avignon, Nimes & Arles are all within 45 minutes of Uzès.
