Informations sur l'hôte
This 17th century, beautiful Provencal Mas is positioned on a quiet lane surrounded by fruit fields, halfway between Avignon and St Remy de Provence. As the attractive entrance gates swing open you are greeted by a lovely view of the large garden and pool. The house is sympathetically furnished in a traditional style but with the advantages of modern bathrooms and a brand new kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious, giving the flexibility for travel cots or a 'z-bed' if needed. Outside living comprises of a wonderful covered terrace providing shade and coolness, furnished with a large table and chairs, a large BBQ, and sofas for relaxing and enjoying the view. It is easy to never leave the house – but it is so worth it when you do. Swimming in rivers, markets galore, shopping, wine-tasting in the vineyards, or watching the sunflowers bowing to the sun. It is France at its best.
Villa Neville is a family home we have all grown up spending our summer holidays here. We all have lovely memories at the house and hope you do too.
Nearby Chateaurenard has all the required amenities – supermarkets, a weekly market, restaurants and bars – while a short drive away, there is the historic city of Avignon, the artistic Provencal town of St Remy, the fabulous Rhone vineyards, including Chateauneuf-du-Papes, and the western end of the Luberon valley. The nearby Gard and Sorgue rivers are excellent for canoeing and river swimming, there is horse-riding around the nearby hills, while the Mediterranean Sea is not too far away. Also in the winter months there is still plenty to do and see, beautiful villages, restaurants, views that artists still go to paint. And when you come home, an open fire... Coast/Beach: There are many good beaches around Marseille and beyond, around one hour's drive away. Travel: Avignon airport is 10 minutes' drive away (Flybe direct from Southampton); Nimes (Ryanair from Luton) and Marseille (EasyJet and BA from various departure airports), around an hour's drive. Eurostar provides a direct service to Avignon during summer season; with one change during out of season months. Calais is 600 miles, almost all motorway (tolls apply). Car hire is recommended.
