Stang Roz House is a newly restored stylish thatched house, set in large mature gardens, within easy reach of the centre of Quimper. The grounds boast an impressive collection of rare azaleas and rhododendrons but also many other trees and shrubbery that provide blooms almost year round. The house and guest room have been redesigned and renovated to high standards of decoration. We have chosen English antiques and wallpaper that all guests have enjoyed immensely so far. Breakfast is the moment we enjoy most with our guests as we can offer them a generous spread of fresh produce from local farms and help them with any advice they might wish for their day’s explorations of the countryside and seaside nearby. We speak 4 languages and are well traveled which makes conversation comfortable. Marianne is actually bilingual. ( English). Sharing the beauty of this unusually charming property is our greatest pleasure and privilege.
After working abroad for many years in education and geology, Marianne and Pierre have finally found the ideal place to enjoy early retirement and share their beautiful house and grounds with friends and guests. They are keen botanists and keen foodies. They will recommend places of interest in both respects with great pleasure !
Quimper and the environs have much to offer. Medieval streets and buildings house shops, boutiques and restaurants. A short walk from the historic cathedral brings you to the vibrant market and museums. Further afield is traditional Brittany with artistic Pont-Aven, historic Locronan and a host of fishing harbours to explore. Exploring this picturesque region takes time, but we know it well and will be happy to offer tips on how to discover it , including the least beaten tracks and secret places to enjoy without wasting time.
