The apartment is in the Notre Dame district in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. If one word were used to describe the neighborhood, it would be charm. Every corner in this neighborhood looks like a postcard, but it is as just alive and restless as the Seine whose curve it embraces. This area is also known as the "Latin" quarter because classes were taught in Latin at the nearby Sorbonne University in the middle ages. It is also famous for its past residents such as Hemingway, Colbert, and Mitterrand. The neighborhood has many green spaces such as Jardin des Plantes, Square Rene Viviani and home to many great establishments of Paris (bookstores such as Shakespeare and Company, jazz club such as Le Caveau de la Huchette, independent cinema such as Champo, legendary restaurant La Tour d’Argent, etc.). There’s a traditional market that opens in the morning at nearby Place Maubert where you can by fresh produces. Geographically, the neighborhood is situated at the very center of Paris, between le Marais (across the river by bridge) of the 4th District and Saint-Germain Des Pres of the 6th District
