Agen se trouve à 28 km du Lamamotte Gite Holiday Home. L'aéroport de Bergerac, le plus proche, est accessible en 45 minutes de route.
Lamamotte Gite is set in a beautiful, quiet location in the countryside, surrounded by fields and plum orchards. It is a recent barn conversion and offers fabulous characterful features such as high ceilings, oak beams, stone walls, wood floors and a wood burning stove. The kitchen and bathroom facilities however are all modern and the gite is spacious (100 sq meters) and very light. It is all on one level and the front faces the gardens and has a fabulous pool view. There are two double bedrooms, (one can be configured as a twin), and a large ensuite bathroom (Jack and Jill style - shared by both bedrooms, and a separate toilet. The pool is truly stunning, and is 10 x 5 x 1.4 m deep which makes it great for swimming and there are Roman steps with jacuzzi for out guests to sit. Our guests have private use of the owners pool. There are large gardens and a long drive to the house which makes it very secure for dogs, and very quiet for guests. The gite has its own private terrace with shade, table, chairs and a gas BBQ . There is also a pétanque court (boules) which is located at the back of the barn, next to the red rose wall. Guests can walk in the plum orchards around the gite.
Jess and Mark, are keen cyclists and also enjoy walking, fishing and gardening. They moved to France to enjoy it's fabulous culture and incredible food and wine. They love the tranquility of the area and the beautiful scenery, but also enjoy the local restaurants, markets and bustling bastide towns of the area. The river valley of the Lot is truly breathtaking. They want to open up their gite and welcome people looking for similar experiences and share their expert local knowledge with guests. They enjoy meeting new people and really want to share their love of the area with them. Jess and Mark also host groups for cycling holidays with guided tours around the area tailored to all abilities. Come and stay with us for a relaxing break or an adventure, activity holiday.
Recommended things to do: • Follow any of the walking or cycling routes printed in the Walking/Cycling folder in the Gite. • Have lunch at Le Stelsia Chateau and afterwards play on the famous mini golf course and walk round the gardens. • Visit the village of Pujols with all its beautiful streets and visit the small shops, church, cafes or restaurants. • Visit the village of Penne D ’Agenais with its remarkable scenery, grand church, small shops, restaurants and café bars. • Cycle along the river route between Pinel Hauterive and Fongrave, stopping at Temple sur Lot for a coffee. • Rent a canoe or small boat at Castelmoron for a cruise along the river. • Visit the local horse races (Trotting) at Villeneuve Sur Lot, Agen or Villereal. It is a fantastic afternoon/evening out. • Visit the town of Buzet and taste wine at the cooperative wine producers. Have lunch by the river/canal at Buzet or Vianne which is very beautiful. • Hire a small boat at Buzet and cruise down the canal stopping for lunch at Vianne. • Enjoy the local night markets (street parties with music) at Casseneuil and Fongrave (July and August only).
