Allan and Josephine have been living in France and renting out their holiday home for past 10 years. Allan is from Zimbabwe and was in the publishing business. He is an Author and has interests in gardens and music. His many years in Africa offer a deep reverence for nature and community and many unimaginable stories. Josephine is an Artist and teaches pottery and craft to children and adults in the local village schools. She is interested in natural health and wellness and enjoys creating meals using foraged finds from the garden. La Chatouillette sits among the lush and tranquil forests of the National park in lower Normandy. It is ideally situated a short 1hr 33 minutes from Caen, between the two villages of Barenton and Ger. This rural area is known for its production of Cider, Calvados and Gin. The location also makes an excellent base for touring the local area within easy reach of the Orne, Calvados and Manche departments. Set in the the midst of Historical and Medieval towns like Domfront and Vire you can explore Antique shops, boutiques, local markets which offer a variety of local products. For those wishing to experience local and regional meals there are many fine restaurants to choose from. Café/Bars offer a place to relax and to sink in to the slower pace of life and alfresco atmosphere.
