La Bastide des Amouriers, once an important farm dating back to the beginning of 19th century, sitting in 4 acres of landscaped gardens is conveniently located at the gates to Provence;10 km from Avignon, close to the mounts of Alpilles and Luberon National Park full of natural wanders accessible by country roads winding up vineyards and down olive groves. The myriad of authentic Provençal villages, where time is marked by lavender scented markets and their colourful stalls brimming with locally grown, sun-kissed fruit and vegetables are within 10 minutes’ drive. On the 1st floor of our Provençal Mas there are 5 comfortable rooms with their private bathrooms and individual air conditioning. The voluminous ground floor reception room can be used to wind down after a hard day of sightseeing. The west wing of La Bastide des Amouriers houses an independent apartment comprising a large living room with open plan kitchen/dining space opening onto the garden and the vast, south-facing stone clad terrace, 2 bedrooms and a bathroom with individual air conditioning. At the east end of the principal terrace, the independent cottage equiped with air conditioning has 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and a spacious living room with an open plan kitchen giving onto a private terrace. Our guests can freely enjoy our extensive grounds: cool down by the pool, share a glass of chilled rosé in the shade of centuries-old plane trees or contemplate nature near the pond or under whispering olive trees.
La Bastide des Amouriers is a capacious Provençal Mas (farmhouse) that started its history at the beginning of the 19th century as a multipurpose mansion combining residential dwelling with agricultural functions. Converted into a guest house at the turn of the 20th century, La Bastide stands in four acres of grounds surrounded by countryside and fields on the outskirts of Caumont Sur Durance, a typical small market town a few miles from Avignon. Les Amouriers designates Mulberry trees in local Occitane dialect. Mulberry tree leaves were used to feed silk worms on the countless silk-producing farms that were. Sophie and Uri; we met in London, fell in love and settled in Paris, Sophie’s native town. As is the case for many of us, corporate life had shown its tedious limitations and our children flew the nest. Thus, we decided to put our hosting talents and culinary aspirations to the test; we chose to settle in Provence, where the weather suits our clothes. We both adore to entertain, meet and mingle. When staying with us, guests can modulate the extent of our hospitality; we like to make you feel welcome, without being intrusive.

En moins d’une demi-heure, on accède à une myriade de petits villages cachés, véritables joyaux dont le charme est si fascinant qu’on souhaite ne jamais en partir.
