27 Rue Chartran is one of the historic building of the Bastide, overlooking Place Carnot and the market square. It dates from the 18th century and is full of character. The roof garden and terrace is an ideal spot for catching some some sun in peace and quiet or for a glass of wine as the sun goes down. This central location is loved by our guests and one of our most popular apartments. The large bedroom is very quiet for those who need a good night's sleep, but located in the heart of all the action.
Pipa and I have been married for 27 years and have six children. We love living in France and the quality of life, fresh air and great food and wines. We love cycling, running and spending time with our children.
The Bastide is a vibrant and exciting part of Carcassonne, less crowded than the medieval city and where the locals live. It is full of character and characters, and everyone is amazingly friendly. The summer time is really humming with the festival but there are always things to do, see and hear. The food is amazing and we have such good restaurants. Really spoilt for choice.
