Informations sur l'hôte
Situated at the junction of 2 country lanes, surrounded by open countryside is Gite Georgette: our 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom holiday cottage, at the rear of our home. The gite offers a private enclosed garden with a patio, perfect for outdoor dining or just relaxing and taking in the stunning views. There is a fully fitted kitchen with a large family shower room. The kitchen leads to an open plan lounge dining area. Upstairs there are 2 bedrooms suitable for a large family or 2 couples: a double bedroom with a child’s single bed tucked in the eaves, and a twin bedded room with ensuite shower room. The farmhouse called Cachette Anglaise is situated in an elevated position with fantastic views of the beautiful countryside. Guerin is the nearest village, under 2 kms away, with a shop and bar. Should you want to venture further we are perfectly placed between the lively town of Marmande and the spa town of Casteljaloux, both have great restaurants, shops and bustling markets. In the nearby area there are navigational rivers and canals, cycling and wine routes, farms which sell their own produce and more.
I have escaped the rat race in London and started on a new adventure - living in a farmhouse in an idyllic spot in SW France. Having always had a love of all things French, I am delighted to share this lovely place with visitors looking for a place to unwind, relax and enjoy the good things in life.
There's a lot of sky, an incredible amount of sky, more sky than land. At night an enormous number of stars are visible, with the occasional light from a distant farmhouse to remind you that there are a few neighbours. In the summer the weather is glorious, and you can sit on the patio and watch the wild life go by. There's even an occasional passing tractor. There are views across the valley and a huge garden full of fruit trees: plum, fig, apple and quince. The air smells fresh and clean, and the pace of life is slow and relaxed. People have time to stop and chat, markets are busy with locally grown produce, and the people who live here care about what they eat. 'On mange bien en Lot et Garonne', as the chap in the local recycling centre said to me. He's so right.
