Until the spring of 2016 François worked as a website builder and Marianne as a psychologist. To enjoy life in a different way, we moved in the spring of 2016 moved to the French Dordogne. An old Auberge and its outbuildings we transformed to our home a familyroom for 2-3 people. We still practice our original professions, but in a different pace and in the beautiful surroundings of le Périgord Noir.
La Noix is 12 km south of Sarlat, between the pretty medieval villages of Castelnaud la Chapelle and Saint Cybranet. Just 100 metres from the idyllic River Ceou, which flows into the river Dordogne. A bike path runs along the Céou-of over more than 25 km. The area is characterised by it hills, views, forests, picturesque villages, medieval towns, castles and gardens. For young and old, there is plenty to do: cycling, hiking, water sports, golf, horseback riding, visit to museums, galleries, caves, markets, flea markets or simply relax in the garden. La Noix is a perfect base from which to explore the Dordogne and Périgord Noir. Almost all the major attractions in the area can be reached within half an hour. The Dordogne has mild winters and warm summers, beautiful springs in which everything is in bloom and gorgeous colorful autumns. As soon as the sun shines, and that seems delicious often in the Périgord Noir, you can sit outside and enjoy the sun. The Périgourdain loves good food and so you will find many restaurants nearby from simple to luxurious.
