Pro: The property manager was excellent. Very good communication and informative. She spoke very good English, this was great, as my French is in the learning process! The property is in an excellent location. About a 15 minute walk from the train station and in a very robust area with many neighborhood restaurants and shops. There is a Carrefour grocery store in this same area, about a 8 minute walk from the apartment, this store was very convenient for us. The building has an elevator. No carrying bags up and down stairs. The apartment was a 1 bedroom, 1 bath. It was extremely clean. Everything worked correctly in the apartment. There is no oven. There is a stove, small microwave, small refrigerator and a number of small appliances. There is a coffee brewer for all of you North and South Americans, just ensure you bring your own coffee and V style filters. I purchased some filters and left them there. Suggestions For Improvement: Entering the apartment, you feel, hmmm, not so excited. It is all painted or colored in drab white, and has high ceilings which are white. It needs some more modern paint colors to warm the place up and make it feel more inviting. It was small, which is ok, but it did not feel comfy and cozy. Just a little TLC would take care of this. There is no salt, pepper, tea bags, instant coffee. These are standard items for apartments and none were present. This would be an easy low cost add and I just do not understand why they do not include them as they are in most other apartments. It is not reasonable when renting an apart. for short term basis like this, you do not properly stock it with these items. In the family/dining room there is a small dining table and a twin bed. There is no other comfortable furniture to sit on other than the bed in the bedroom, which is where I was forced to go. Apparently the twin bed is in the place of a sofa or a couple of chairs, as a result it makes it difficult to relax, thus you go to the bed.
Contre: Even with the items I suggest in my Suggestions for Improvement, these issues do not compare with the internet service. Internet/WIFI was terrible. Many times it would not open email. I tried streaming using ExpressVPN as I am able to do at most places and no luck. It was constantly in and out. I ended up using hotspot on phone. I could not work because of the poor internet. I have been traveling for years. I was traveling when the internet was created. I remember those old days of poor service and having to pay for it at hotels I stayed at. But this is no longer a problem. In these modern days internet can be excellent almost everywhere. But not here, they need to do something about that. As a result I thought this property was not so much a value for my money. This could easily be corrected without a lot of cost.
