Pro: The apartment is situated in the heart of the city, lots of restaurants, shops and bars around, lovely area! The apartment is very chic and different from many others we stayed in and we likes all the touches, it s an originally decorated please for sure. Beautiful chess board in the living room by the window overlooking the street outside!
Contre: We were asked to provide a deposit of 300 € in cash on arrival, which I thought was a bit unusual but fair enough, in the end it is up to the owner to set the rules of his own property and if one does not like this I guess should look for other options. The owner said that we' ll receive the money back at check out if everything was in order in the house. When the day came he walked in the apartment and said he d like to check, he went straight to the blinds and discovered that one of the sticks that spins the blinds open and shut was missing and concluded that we have to pay for it 20 €, although we know for a fact that stick was not there when we arrived because in the first night when we wanted to use those blinds we couldn t turn that one. We thought it was weird that that was the first place he went to look at. He doesn t have a check list when you check in so in the end basically it s your word against his in case he deems anything is missing or is wrong. Please just be aware of this and go check things upon your arrival. After back and forth he only took 15€ and in the end wanted to give us the money back, but we did not accept because to be honest we got upset not because of the money but because of the principle of it. We complied with all his requests, including taking the trash out and putting away all the dishes in the cupboards after washing them, stripping the beds of used linen and took care of the house like it was our own, left everything in the exact way we found it. Apart from this incident, as other reviewers have noted, it is not a quiet apartment, there is a lot of wood in the house: the floors, the upstairs bed, the stairs, everything cracks and squeecks at every step and turn.
