Appartement atypique Vieux-Port - Opéra

Pro: We were welcomed by the friendly host couple who had earlier been in contact using a text message. The apartment was very well designed with a generous kitchen that even included many items that could be used in preparing a meal. We didn't do that (over 2200 restaurants in Marseilles and many within a short walk) but we did enjoy the locally sourced coffee. Despite its central location the apartment was very quiet with good double glazing. Easy to find (just head for the Opera house) and perfectly central for sightseeing. Of course in the city center there is little chance of finding a (free) parking space, but a decent underground car park (Parking Indigo Charles De Gaulle ) was a 3 minute walk and not unreasonably priced (we pre-reserved and paid € 35 for almost 2 days in Jan 2020).

Contre: Not a problem for us, but as other reviews have warned visitors need to climb the 75 step on the spiral staircase which could be a challenge for less agile guests. On arrival our host gallantly carried both our cases up the stairs.
