The beauty of the chalet is that it really is walking distance to the centre of town where you will find fantastic shopping, coffee shops, restaurants, the cinema and nightlife. The Chamonix bus system has been overhauled during the last year in a concerted effort to make Chamonix more environmentally-friendly. The public transport is great. There are bus stops within walking distance to the chalet. There is the Mulet, a little electric bus, that loops around town. The stop is just outside the chalet. The central bus station is also within walking distance and from here you can take buses to the various ski fields and also coaches to Italy, Geneva, Annecy and beyond.
